Bestvloggincamera.com is primarily about vlogging cameras, we specifically talk about the best vlogging cameras. We will not talk about every camera on the market you could vlog with because that would make the choices a bit overwhelming and we aren’t here to confuse you. We want to help simplify the choices and so you can find the best camera for your needs. We will also talk about a lot of other vlogging related or consumer technology products as well, because although the camera is probably the most important part of vlogging it’s not the only consideration you should have to make videos. External microphones play a huge role in producing quality content as well. Using the proper lens for vlogging is also critical for successfully making vlogs. There are likely many aspects of vlogging that are probably overlooked by the average person, so we will discuss and cover many different topics and products on this website.
We cover everything from Cameras to Drones to vlogging Tips & Tricks. Some of the gear talked about on this website is a bit over the top for a vlogger that has basic needs, but we try to cover all considerations for producing those perfect vlogs and awesome videos that you want to make. Often times producing an awesome vlog does require a few extra goodies to help make the production easier, better quality or gain leverage on shots that aren’t available without the right equipment. Say for instance, if you are a vlogger that travels a lot and want to show your viewers where you have been and what you are doing, aerial landscape footage from a drone might really put your vlog over the top as far as being interesting and informative. Many of today’s top-vloggers on YouTube regularly incorporate drone footage into their vlogs.
There are tons of vlogging accessories and there is always more equipment that one can purchase to enhance or make a vlog better, so much so, that you could easily go broke trying to buy everything all at once. We will try to simplify the process of what you really need and what is really the most important gear for vlogging. It’s impossible for us to say you need this and you need that, or no this and then that. Only you know what you would like to accomplish with your vlogging, so we prefer to keep it simple by focusing mostly on the best vlogging cameras and most used vlogging accessories that will work best for most people. So, the first and foremost piece of vlogging equipment you will need to start with is a good vlogging camera.
It’s no secret that Canon dominates the vlogging camera market and is the preferred brand of many of the most popular vloggers out there right now. Canon makes great cameras that are of very good quality and durability for most people’s needs. I personally own several Canon cameras and I am always impressed with the newest models that come onto the market as they just keep getting better and better. The current model lineup is the best it has ever been and there are several models that Canon produces that will make excellent vlogging cameras for many different peoples needs and wants in all different price ranges. That’s not to say that Canon is the only choice there are several other major manufacturers of cameras that produce very good cameras that can be used for vlogging. I myself personally have had excellent experiences with Canon and like their products the best for vlogging at this point in time. No Canon does not pay me to say that nor do they give me free cameras of anything else for that matter, I just find their products the easiest to work with without any problems.
My favorite camera from Canon right now is the newest prosumer model Canon 80D. It was released in the first half of 2016 and has been a huge success with raving fans all over the world. This camera is likely so good it will be hard to beat for the next couple of years. It has tons useful features and the image quality for vlogging is awesome! It is one of the most used cameras of popular vloggers and content creators on YouTube right now. It is highly capable because it is a DSLR camera, so that means you can use several different lenses to suit your image quality needs. The camera has the ability to use an external microphone (this one is a favorite among many top/popular vloggers) which is very important for overall audio quality. The Canon 80D also has easy to use controls that even someone unfamiliar with cameras could learn very quickly. I use this camera myself and would give it the perfect rating if I had to rate it compared to every other camera I have owned in the past. The Canon 80D is also an awesome camera for photography, it will propel your abilities into the next several levels of professionalism.
The Canon 80D is not the only choice when it comes to good vlogging cameras, there is a handful of point and shoot cameras at lower price points that perform very well and are more compact in size. I really like the Canon G7X Mark ii as it is an awesome camera that will give you incredible picture/image quality and be in a super convenient size that could easily be thrown into your purse or backpack without taking up much room.
There are tons of accessories you can buy for a vlogging camera and it can get a little overwhelming. We recommend checking out the accessories section or at a very minimum getting a good SD memory card to go along with your camera purchase. I thoroughly recommend the Sandisk 64 GB Extreme cards for anyone who wants to get several hours of footage on one card that will never let you down, I have used Sandisk cards for years and never had one malfunction on me! You can find the rest of our camera reviews, microphone reviews and lens reviews at the top of the page. We also review drones, vlogging accessories and have a Vlogging Tips section to help get the ball rolling or a few tips and pointers to help you vlog better.
