An IPS monitor is a nice upgrade for anyone editing videos on the computer. You might already be familiar with IPS monitors and probably not even know it. If you currently own an Apple computer made in the last couple of years, it probably has an IPS screen. An IPS monitor or screen, simply put is a different type of display that is a bit more advanced and convenient for editing video, editing photos because the screen itself offers a more fuller and true color spectrum as well being able to be viewed by the user at many different angles and not create a glare on the screen. The enhanced viewing angles are also great for watching movies or Netflix on the computer. 🙂
You might already have a computer with an IPS monitor or screen and that is ideal. You might not even need to consider any upgrades in that department unless you want to add a second or third monitor to your computer setup. I personally edit almost of my video a desktop iMac, after quite some time of doing that I sensed the need for a second monitor to help add more “landscape” to my open programs and internet browsers, etc. that I was using all at the same time while editing, so I invested in a second monitor to increase my productivity and ease of usage on the computer. It has been a real treat to have a second monitor available for tasks on the computer now. I can edit photos on one screen and surf the web on the other screen. It helps to keep from flipping back and forth between different tabs and keeps important activity right in front of you.
The model I purchased for myself is an AOC 24″ IPS flat screen monitor (AOC i2470Swq) that is no longer currently available at this point. It has been an excellent upgrade. I have looked around and compared the latest models that would be excellent second or third monitors for vloggers and have come up with some reasonably priced monitors that will be great choices for most video editors. The AOC i2367Fh 23″ IPS monitor is very highly rated and affordable IPS monitor that offers all the standard connections and good performance in a sleek and attractive design. One of the only downsides about this monitor is it does not provide a VESA mounting option. Meaning that you will not able to attach it to a monitor arm or moving wall/desk mount.
To be continued with VESA-mountable monitor options…
